Most coupon sites treat the writing as filler between the offers. We think that’s backwards.

A deal is only worth anything if you were going to care about the place in the first place. So we start with the story — the bakery that changed hands, the hardware store that has outlasted three shopping centres — and the offer comes along for the ride.

What you’ll find here

Three kinds of thing, roughly:

• Neighbourhood stories. Profiles of businesses worth knowing about, whether or not there’s a coupon attached.
• Practical guides. Seasonal checklists, how to pick a contractor, what a fair price looks like for common jobs.
• Offers. Real discounts from businesses we’ve actually written about.

The deal with deals

Every offer on GR8 Leaf comes from the business itself. Merchants submit their own offers and we review each one before it goes live — which means no expired codes quietly sitting around, and no “discounts” that are really just the regular price with a line through it.

If an offer ever doesn’t work as described, tell us. We’d rather hear about it than have you quietly give up on us.
